My Favorite Art Supplies in my Textile + Design Studio
I’m always getting questions about my favorite art supplies that use everyday- so today I decided to do something new.. share some behind the scenes things that I love + use! Over the years I’ve used so many different tools in my art, but I do have some that I reach for again and again for my mixed media textile art + collage, as well as my illustration + surface pattern design work.
If you’re new here, I’m Meghan, a mixed media textile artist, illustrator and surface pattern designer. My studio is full of fabrics, paints, papers, threads and so much more. Here are just a few of my favorite things- complete with links so you can grab your own!
So let’s dive in!

My favorite kinds are Fluid Watercolor Paper, Fabriano and Arches- I love them depending on the texture I’m looking for you can find it them here -

My favorite watercolor paints are - Winsor & Newton , Schmincke Watercolor Paints
3. SKETCHING PENCILS- I love these Blackwing Matte Graphite Pencils for sketching + drawing. My process for my surface designs and repeat patterns always begin on paper, before I bring artwork onto the computer, and I love these pencils for all my design work.

6. SKETCHBOOK + JOURNAL - Every artist needs a sketchbook and journal- and here’s one I love.

Every artist has their own favorite tools and supplies and these are just a few of mine! Of course, my studio is filled with so much more.. natural fibers, such as cotton + linen ( I also love sourcing these from thrift shops for more variation), embroidery thread, yarns, my beloved Bernina sewing machine, endless sewing threads, repurposed papers and vintage fabrics, to name a few!
I hope this gives you some ideas for your own art studio!
